Ori and the Will of the Wisps Proceeds Going to Rainforest Charity

iam8bit has officially confirmed that they will be partnering with the charity Rainforest Trust in order for Ori and the Will of the Wisps proceeds generated from Nintendo Switch sales to go towards helping the rainforest. So far 5% of the game proceeds have gone towards Rainforest Trust, with more money continuing to go towards the rainforest charity. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is available right now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and through the extensive Xbox Game Pass Ultimate lineup.

Considering the Ori series is about a lengthy adventure through a beautiful forest, it’s very fitting that iam8bit is donating proceeds towards Rainforest Trust. With 5% of the Nintendo Switch proceeds going towards the rainforest charity, it gives an extra incentive to play this great game. Rainforest Trust was founded in 1988 and the organization is dedicated to the conservation and restoration of the world’s rainforests. Rainforest Trust purchases land in order to turn it into nature reserves, and the charity has already managed to secure 24 million acres.

“We see the privilege of publishing Ori and the Will of the Wisps as an opportunity to give back,” said iam8bit on their official Twitter account. “That’s why for this week, 5% of all Will of the Wisps sales on Switch will go directly to support Rainforest Trust.” With 24 million acres of land already secured, it’ll be interesting to see how many more acres Ori and the Will of the Wisps Nintendo Switch sales can buy. This collaborative effort is an attempt to stop the destruction of 31,000 square miles of rainforest being destroyed annually.
