Spec Ops Survival Officially Lands on Modern Warfare for Xbox and PC
When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launched last year, PlayStation received timed exclusivity to a big game mode that has officially released for Xbox One and PC. The game mode is Spec Ops Survival and it tasks gamers with surviving massive waves of geared up soldiers similar to previous Spec Ops modes in Call of Duty history. The game mode isn’t exactly a Zombies replacement, but it’s a great way to take a break from Multiplayer and Warzone. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, with Spec Ops Survival unlocked on all platforms now.
Call of Duty used to get timed exclusivity on Xbox consoles last generation, but this generation (and seemingly the next) Activision and Infinity Ward have released content early on PlayStation. Spec Ops Survival was locked behind a one-year timed exclusivity for Xbox One and PC Call of Duty fans, but they can finally rejoice as the game mode is officially live for all platforms. The most popular game mode in Modern Warfare has been Warzone, and that’s not likely to change now that everyone has access to Spec Ops Survival. Battle Royale is still the popular genre right now and Warzone is an extremely fun experience.
With a lot of the focus shifting on Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War and the next generation of consoles, Call of Duty fans who are still tearing apart Modern Warfare on Xbox One and PC will get a little treat next time they play. The recently added game mode is a nice addition to an already great game, but when it was a timed exclusive to PS4, it wasn’t exactly a console selling mode. Had PlayStation been able to secure Warzone instead, we think that may have been a different story.
