Diablo Immortal is Getting Rave Reviews, But You Still Can’t Play It

Sorry Guys, You’ll Have to Just Believe Activision’s Internal Playtesters

Do you all remember Diablo Immortal, or at least the absolute disaster which followed its announcement? We suspect you do, but for those lucky enough to avoid that particular tire fire, Diablo Immortal is an upcoming Diablo game for mobile set twenty years before the main franchise. It’s set to explore the stories of Deckard Cain, Tyrael, and other series regulars. Also, when it was revealed instead of Diablo 4, the entire fanbase exploded. Now that Diablo 4 is finally in production, you’d think that the rage over Blizzard daring to release a phone game instead would’ve died down a bit. You’d really think so. Especially since the two dev teams are apparently on friendly terms. Sadly, we haven’t really heard much about Immortal since its initial announcement and extremely poor reception, but that may change soon, because Activision just mentioned it in a very positive manner. Also, China is still getting trailers.

“Amongst multiple Blizzard mobile titles under development Diablo Immortal saw a hugely enthusiastic response in internal testing in the third quarter and will soon enter external regional testing,” said Daniel Alegre, President & Chief Operating Officer of Activision.

How does that sound? Okay, it’s no glowing review from trusted and beloved media personalities, but it’s still reassuring to hear that Blizzard hasn’t completely lost the plot, right? Diablo Immortal may not have a release date, but at least we can be assured that Blizzard will keep chipping away at it until this mobile installment shines as brightly as possible. Oh, wait, we already knew that. It’s good to have additional confirmation?

We’re gonna be honest, we never fully got the hate for Diablo Immortal. But then, we like mobile games. Personally, we’re just hoping this game comes to North America. No matter what platform it’s on, it would suck to lose out on a Diablo game.
