Blizzard Announces Diablo Immortal for Mobile

Diablo Immortal Is Coming to Phones

Blizzard just announced the next Diablo game, Diablo Immortal, at BlizzCon today. The mobile game, which as of now is just “coming soon,” is set twenty years before the events of Diablo II and Diablo III. It will feature stories covering Deckard Cain, Tyrael, and other franchise regulars. By the looks of the trailer, the game looks like it plays pretty much like Diablo III but with touch controls.

For series diehards holding their breath for Diablo 4, it’s still coming—we just don’t know when. Blizzard even gave fans a heads up a couple of weeks ago and told them that the Diablo III sequel wouldn’t make it to BlizzCon, but it’s definitely in the works.

“These are very exciting times—we currently have multiple teams working on different Diablo projects and we can’t wait to tell you all about them . . . when the time is right,” they wrote. “We know what many of you are hoping for and we can only say that ‘good things come to those who wait,’ but evil things often take longer. We appreciate your patience as our teams work tirelessly to create nightmarish experiences worthy of the Lord of Terror.”

In the meantime, here’s the trailer for Diablo Immortal.
