Domino’s Pizza Ad Makes Fun of the Diablo Immortal Debacle

Pizza Has Always Been Mobile

After the announcement of Diablo Immortal, the gaming world has debated who was in the wrong at Blizzcon. Domino’s Pizza, on the other hand, decided to mold the occasion for its own purposes. A funny, new Facebook shows us how the pizza place is in the know.

Diablo 3

Specifically, Domino’s Pizza referenced the moment at BlizzCon where one attendee asked whether or not Diablo Immortal was an “out-of-season April Fool’s joke.” The top of a recent Facebook ad says, “This is not an out-of-season April Fool’s Joke.” In order to hit the nail on the head, the ad includes a man in a red shirt and glasses standing in front of a microphone. It’s likely that the pizza company enlisted an employee for the job. The post goes on to reference the Diablo event in its wording.

“No diabolical plans here, we just want to level up your gaming experience! Immortalize your characters with our Treasure Chest Items when you get pizzas from Domino’s! Order here to claim your items quick before DIA BLOW away by a blizzard http://bit.ly/2qziafK.

For anyone confused about how the image relates to Diablo Immortal over at Blizzcon, simply view the clip below. If Domino’s wanted to go a step further, they can always edit the clip below so that a Domino’semployeee is onstage answering the question. Then again, I’m no marketer.

Hardcore Blizzard fans felt spurned after the announcement of Diablo Immortal. With so many PC players at Blizzcon, the video game company decided to mark the zenith of their event with a mobile title. Whether or not you believe the devs deserved to be booed on stage, someone had to have the foresight to know the announcement would not go over well. But, if we can expect more ridiculous posts from pizza companies and other unrelated industries, then there’s a silver lining.
