The Sinking City De-Listed After Serious Legal Dispute

Real Shady Dealings From BigBen Interactive/Nacon

Frogwares and BB/Nacon are in the midst of a serious legal dispute. As a result of this, The Sinking City is being de-listed from almost all digital storefronts. A long Twitter post highlights what sort of nefarious happenings have been going down over the last year or so.

The Sinking City

It seems BigBen Interactive were under the impression that they owned the rights to The Sinking City? This is demonstrably untrue, and there’s a lot of evidence to support this. Unfortunately, the publisher in question has been happily operating under a contrary assumption ever since the game was released. Also they haven’t been paying Frogwares on time, at all, even once. So that’s something.

This has all become a matter of public record, since the court proceedings are underway. BB/Nacon apparently asked for the source code for The Sinking City once they bought up another Lovecraft title. I guess they assumed that licencing rights were somehow all-inclusive? It turns out that they are absolutely not, and so here we are. Consequently, if you’re still interested in supporting Frogwares with a purchase of the game, there are direct links (at the bottom of that page) you can use to buy it.
