Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Just Got a Whole Lot Better

With the next-gen of consoles looming on the horizon, Phil Spencer officially announced new information about the next generation of Game Pass through a recent blog. First of all, Project xCloud will be added to the Xbox Game Pass service at no additional cost, all new Xbox Game Studios titles coming out in the foreseeable future will be coming to Game Pass day one, just as they did on this generation of Xbox and that Xbox Series X games on Game Pass will receive the next-gen visual upgrades. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is available for $15 per month for gamers who have already utilized one of the promotions and it brings the Game Pass library to both the Xbox One and PC.

In September, Xbox Game Pass subscribers in certain countries will be able to access Project xCloud at no additional cost. The vast Game Pass library of over 100 titles will be available through Project xCloud when it’s added to the service and players will be able to pick up where they left off in their games on their phone or tablet. This combination of Game Pass and Project xCloud allows gamers who have to share a TV to take their games on the go as if Xbox made their own version of the Nintendo Switch console.

“The future of gaming has never been more exciting and limitless. It’s a future you’ll explore on your terms, not constrained by restrictive policies,” said Phil Spencer. “Where your gaming legacy will not be left behind and where you will not be locked out of new exclusive Xbox Game Studios games even if you choose to stay with your current console for a while.”

Xbox Game Pass subscribers who enjoy Halo Infinite on the Xbox One can easily upgrade their console to the Xbox Series X and see what the game looks and feels like in comparison without an additional cost. Microsoft will be letting Xbox gamers take their time in purchasing the next-gen console by providing access to the same titles through Game Pass on both generations of consoles.

“Xbox Game Studios titles we release in the next couple of years, like Halo Infinite, will be available and play great on Xbox Series X and Xbox One,” said Phil Spencer. “We won’t force you to upgrade to Xbox Series X at launch to play Xbox exclusives.”
