Yakuza: Like A Dragon Joining the Xbox Series X Launch Lineup
Sega joined many other developers during the recent Inside Xbox Series X games showcase, showing off their upcoming Yakuza: Like A Dragon. The trailer showed off several plot elements, showing fans of the series how this protagonist became Like A Dragon. Some gameplay was also included but the trailer primarily focused on cinematic plot moments. The title will be one of many games that the Xbox Series X will launch with when it releases in the holiday 2020 release window. Yakuza: Like A Dragon will also be released for Xbox One and PC when it releases later this year.
In the Yakuza: Like A Dragon trailer, Ichiban Kasuga takes the fall for a fellow Yakuza only to be left high and dry when he’s released from prison. Beyond that, when he returns to the gang, his life is threatened as if he turned on them by taking the fall. Several allies were showed off during the trailer but their impact on the plot and gameplay was only slightly teased. Classic characters such as Majima Goro and Kiryu Kazuma joined the trailer for Yakuza veterans to speculate on their role in the new title.
Considering Yakuza: Like A Dragon is expected on the Xbox Series X for launch, it can be assumed that the title will be releasing in the holiday 2020 window. With Yakuza Zero and Yakuza Kiwami joining the extensive Game Pass lineup, new fans can experience the franchise ahead of the release of Yakuza: Like A Dragon to get a better idea of the world and characters Sega has developed. While Like A Dragon changes the formula with full-fledged RPG mechanics and turn-based combat, gamers can get an idea of the franchise by playing the already released titles.
