EA Is Turning Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Into a Franchise
EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed during a recent earnings call that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the beginning of a new franchise. While a sequel to the single player Star Wars title has been teased since the first one was so successful, this is the first sign that multiple sequels will be developed. It’s likely that the sequels to Star Wars Jedi will end up on the next-gen consoles which are due to launch during the holiday 2020 release window. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC right now.
EA was focused on multiplayer titles when Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order but due to the success of the title, they seem to be shifting their focus. Considering Andrew Wilson is the CEO of EA and he claimed that Star Wars Jedi will be a franchise, it’s likely that several titles will be releasing beyond the one sequel we’re aware of. Wilson specifically said that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the “first title in an entirely new franchise.”
Over ten million gamers purchased Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but it was also widely renowned as a great single player experience by nearly anyone who played it. More content has been added to the game through updates, including some pre-order content that was made available to all fans of the game. While we’ve been anticipating a sequel for a while, it’s good to know that we can expect more than one more title in the franchise beyond that.
