Mass Effect HD Remaster Coming Sooner Than Expected
Electronic Arts released their quarterly earnings report, which included reference to an EA HD remaster title in the works and rumors suggest it’s the Mass Effect trilogy remaster. According to known leaker Jeff Grubb, the EA HD Remaster will be an graphically improved Mass Effect trilogy that will release for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, but not for the Nintendo Switch apparently. This means the Mass Effect remaster will join Command & Conquer and Burnout Paradise as remasters coming out in 2021. The original Mass Effect trilogy was released for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and the trilogy is backwards compatible on Xbox One and is on Game Pass.
During the quarterly earnings report, EA mentioned NHL 21, FIFA 21, Madden 21, Command & Conquer Remastered, Burnout Paradise Remastered for Switch, Medal of Honor VR, A fourth sports game, some EA Originals indie titles and Mobile games as their 2021 lineup so far. This list included an EA HD Remaster that’s currently unannounced but if Jeff Grubb is to be believed, it’s a proper upgrade to the Mass Effect trilogy from last generation consoles.
While Mass Effect 3 ended up on the Nintendo Wii U, it doesn’t seem like the remastered trilogy will end up on the Nintendo Switch according to Jeff Grubb. Command & Conquer Remastered and Burnout Paradise Remastered for Switch are expected to arrive in Q1, with FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21 coming in Q2 and NHL 21 releasing in Q3. The EA HD remaster is expected to release by March 31st 2021 according to EA’s 2021 release schedule. If the teams are able to stay on track with the challenges that currently face them, we’re looking forward to seeing each of EA’s 2021 releases.
