The Australian Football League is hosting a Fortnite Tournament and they’re offering $100,000 in prize money to the winner. This Football League Duos tournament that runs today and tomorrow will be filled with 40 Australian Football League players competing to be the final two survivors. The winners will choose which charity the $50,000 prize money will go to, helping spread awareness and good will while cutting their opponents down to size. Fortnite is available for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Mac, PC and mobile right now, with the AFL Stream King featuring Fortnite being streamed online for Fortnite and footy fans alike.

“We are proud to partner with global giant Epic Games to put on this charity tournament, harnessing the strengths of both organizations, and providing what should be an amazing product for footy fans and gamers alike. Bringing together some of the biggest names in footy with the biggest names in Fortnite, we can’t wait to see who takes out the title.” While this is far from the first Fortnite tournament with a big prize pool, the AFL hopes to bring in record-breaking viewership as the action as it unfolds.

Several sports leagues are on a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the AFL is no acceptation. Taking to Fortnite to continue competing with each other, the AFL Stream King featuring Fortnite is a great way for the athletes to continue their competition while raising money and awareness for important charities. ESPN2 has been playing clips of Madden NFL 2020 to replace the lack of new American football to cover, while other athletes compete in various gaming tournaments to fill the void of competition during the pandemic.
