Influencers and Athletes Compete in Call of Duty League

Athletes and Influencers Will Have a Hype Battle in Call of Duty League

In one of the Call of Duty League events this year, Influencers and Athletes will compete in a Hype Battle for bragging rights. The Hype Battle is bringing in people such as NBA All-Star and 2016 Rookie of the Year Karl-Anthony Towns who aims to prove he’s the best Call of Duty gamer in the NBA. Hype Battle will be featured in the Call of Duty League Launch Weekend broadcast on January 24-26, 2020 and it will lead up to the biggest matches of the season on Sunday, January 26th. Gamers will be able to watch these matches on the official Call of Duty Twitch channel and Call of Duty League’s website.

Hype Battle Call of Duty League

The athletes and influencers that will kick-off the Call of Duty League’s inaugural season will compete in 2v2 competition at the Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 12 teams full of the best pro Call of Duty players in the world will compete for the first place prize. The Hype Battle is a new idea for the League which will certainly spice things up this year. It’ll be interesting to know if Karl-Anthony Towns is as good in the battlefield as he is on the basketball court. At the end of the month, we will know the answer to that riddle.

The Hype Battle will take place during a professional Call of Duty esports tournament on the main stage in the Gunfight game mode. While Karl-Anthony Towns hasn’t announced his partner for the competition, we wouldn’t be surprised to see another familiar face back him up. None of the other influencers or athletes have been announced at this time but more announcements are sure to pop up in the weeks leading up to the event.
