Phantasy Star Online 2 Releases for Xbox One, PC Inbound
Sega has officially released Phantasy Star Online 2 in North America for the Xbox One, with a PC version coming out next month. While the game is free to play, fans of the series can purchase various bundles that include various in-game items.Xbox One gamers who want to try out the infamous Japanese MMO will need Xbox Live Gold, which comes included with Game Pass Ultimate for $10 per month. Currently, Phantasy Star Online 2 is a Microsoft Store exclusive and will be when it releases for PC in late May.
Fans of Phantasy Star Online will want to log into the sequel between now and April 23rd to receive login bonuses to commemorate the North American release. The Sega MMO released in Japan in 2012 and so North American gamers will have access to years worth of added content, bug fixes, balancing, etc. Cross-play between PC and Xbox One will be enabled for when the game releases on PC later next month. Fans of in-game events can enjoy a singer known as Quna performing live concerts on Saturday and Sunday.
The original version of Phantasy Star Online 2 was told in the Japanese language but with the North American release for Xbox One, the title has been localized and translated. Both text and voice work have been redone to match the region, which will make the release for the PC version a little easier. The PC version doesn’t have an official release date yet but it’s expected to come later next month. There are two Urgrent quests for Phantasy Star Online 2 fans to complete during the Cherry Blosson season, “The Cunning Black Winged Vanguard” and “The False Champion: Luther the Fallen.”
