“It Looks Like You’re Back Online”
There have been a few hints, both minor and major, that Crysis Remastered would be coming out. A few days ago, the official Crysis Twitter account booted up for the first time in a few years and then yesterday a teaser image was briefly released. Today, an official teaser was uploaded with confirmation that the game will be coming out, although we kind of knew already. There is no official release date for the remaster, but we can probably guess that Crytek will be aiming for a 2020 release window.
The teaser is real short. It starts with a collage of comments from fans filling the screen, hyping up a return of Crysis. Then shows Mr. Crysis himself, Nomad, the protagonist of the game. He is in the jungle and we hear someone over the radio saying that he is “back online”. Boom. Title card. The teaser says that it is “coming soon”. It also shows all the platforms it is expect to launch on; PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. This tells us that Crytek is expecting to release it on this generation of consoles, so we can guess that it will be releasing later this year.
Crysis originally released on PC in 2007 and then on Xbox 360 and PS4 in 2011, with a few missing features. The game is set in the year 2020, so there is a tiny bit of speculation that the timing of the remaster is no coincidence. Crysis Remastered will be launching on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
