EA Dice Says the Next Content Update for Battlefield V Is the Last
According to developers at EA Dice, the next update for Battlefield V will be its last, with a next-gen title on the horizon. Developers are working from home to release the next update in June but it could be delayed given the circumstances. The game will continue to receive balance changes and developers will be continuing to ban cheaters moving forward but beyond the next content update, no more content will be added to the World War 2 FPS. Battlefield V is available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC now, with Into the Jungle being the most recent content drop for the game.
“Hi everyone, I hope you are all staying safe, staying home, and playing together on the battlefield. The last couple of weeks have been challenging for everyone but connecting with you in-game has been inspiring – and we’ve seen some mind-blowing community-created content. Thank you, I think we all needed that,” said developers at EA Dice. “As we look to the future, we will release one more standalone update this summer that brings with it some new content, weapons, and game tweaks. We are targeting June for this update. We’re still tackling the challenges from working from home and will let you know how things progress for us over the next month.”
Friday Night Battlefield servers and Throwback Thursday will be returning to Battlefield with the upcoming June update and community updates are expected beyond the release as well. “This announcement may change as we listen to community feedback and continue developing and evolving our Live Service & Content. We will always strive to keep our community as informed as possible,” continued the statement. The actual content included with the next update was merely teased with new guns coming to the game but Battlefield gamers should expect new maps as well.
