Sea of Solitude’s Cornelia Geppert Has Finished a Script for a New Game
According to Jo-Mei Games’ CEO, Writer and Creative Director Cornelia Geppert, the script for the studio’s next title has already been written. Geppert has apparently decided to ring in 2020 with finishing the first draft of Jo-Mei Games’ next title. She hasn’t confirmed whether it’s a sequel to the mental health focused Sea of Solitude or if it will be a brand new experience from the studio. While a draft of the plot is complete, it likely still has to be edited and refined, with a game being built around it later which will take a while. It’ll be interesting to see is EA partners with the studio for the next title or not. Sea of Solitude is available on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
Cornelia Geppert excitedly took to Twitter to announce the completion of the first draft of Jo-Mei Games’ next project: “maybe because last days of 2019 had been so chillaxing: sport, reading, cooking, convo all NYE with best friend, i woke up this morning inspired & energetic as heck! So today i wrote the ENTIRE DRAFT of our NEXT GAME!! What a first day of the new decade. 2020, let‘s get it on.” We appreciate her enthusiasm for the upcoming title and her usage of “chillaxing.”
Considering the emotional and lonely experience of Sea of Solitude, we’re curious if Jo-Mei Games’ next title will have themes of mental health as well or if it will be less focused on self-conflict. While the first draft is finished, we’re still expecting a long wait before the game is officially released. We loved the incredible narrative and aesthetics of Sea of Solitude but felt the experience was quite short. Are you curious what else we thought about the indy developed title?
