Apple is Counting Ravens Before They Hatch With Mythic Quest Season 2
Apple is doubling down on its original TV series “Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet” by announcing that Mythic Quest season 2 is a go. The first season is set to premier on Feb. 7, 2020.
The TV series follows a group of video game developers as they struggle to manage the running of a popular online game. Rob McElhenney, of It’s Always Sunny in Philidelphia fame, stars as the creative director for the fictional video game company. McElhenney also serves as an executive producer.
Fans of Dan Harmon’s Community will be excited to see Danny Pudi, who played Abed in the NBC sitcom, featuring in the show alongside F. Murray Abraham, Imani Hakim, Charlotte Nicdao, David Hornsby, Ashly Burch and Jessie Ennis .
The series is set to air exclusively on Apple TV+, which costs $4.99 USD a month. People who have not tried Apple TV+ and are not currently subscribed can get a free 7 day trial when they sign up. The entire fist season is set to drop on Feb. 7.
The series was co-created by McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz. All three of the co-creators have worked on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Ganz has also worked on Community and Modern Family. Production is being handled by Lionsgate/3 Arts Entertainment and Ubisoft Film & Television.
The first trailer for Mythic Quest was unveiled during Ubisoft’s E3 2019 press conference. Here at COGconnected, we listed it as the 5th worst thing to come out of that presentation. We’ll se whether that stance holds up once the first season becomes available.
Mythic Quest season 2 isn’t the only Apple Original that’s received a renewal. Several Apple Originals are being renewed, including Little America; soon-to-premiere “Home Before Dark”; and “Dickinson,” “See,” “Servant,” and “For All Mankind.”
