Crytivo Fights Australian Wildfires By Donating Profits

Fight Fire With Games

For many people, playing video games is a form of escapism. Playing your favourite games for a few hours a day lets you forget about your troubles and the sorry state of the world around you. Unfortunately, the world is literally on fire. Australia is pretty much engulfed in flames, and while many of us are on the other side of the Earth, we feel there is not much we can do. Fortunately, there are people who can help you help Australia and its inhabitants. Game developer, publisher, and distributor Crytivo is sending aid down under.

Crytivo

On January 7th, Crytivo CEO Alex Koshelkov put out an announcement that they will be donating money to help fund the firefighters in Australia working overtime, environmental cleanup, and rebuilding what has been destroyed. Crytivo calls this Operation Koala. In the announcement, Koshelkov says, “During this month and the next, we will be donating 100% of net revenue from our online Crytivo Store and 30% from all our Steam sales.” Net revenue and profits are pretty much the same thing; revenue minus operating costs equals profit, so the money they would normally be making in January and February will be donated to various relief organizations.

On Steam, Crytivo has four titles available. One of them is a free demo, two are full games, and the other is DLC for one of the games. Their online store has a much wider variety of games, and if you want to help them raise money, that’s where your money will do the most good. There are many other influencers, streamers, and people in the games industry raising money to aid Australia now as well, so give generously, please.
