Table Manners Is the Surgeon Simulator for First Dates

Make a Good First Impression

They say first dates are as delicate as surgery. Well, I’ve never actually heard anyone say that, but for this comparison it works. The famous 2013 game Surgeon Simulator made a big step in popularizing the simulator genre by mixing the complexity of surgery and the clumsiness of simulator controls. Curve Digital is trying the same approach, but in the social setting instead of the medical. Table Manners sets you across the table from your date and you must show them your romance game, as clumsy as it may be.

Table Manners

Just like Surgeon Simulator, in Table Manners you will have to pour your date some wine, serve them their food, romantically feed them, or strike out trying. There is also a precursor to the date where you interact with them through a dating app. You can make small talk, joke with them, seduce them, and hopefully score a date with them. You see in the trailer that every little thing is a struggle, and ain’t that the truth? Dating is hard.

You may Curve Digital from their work on Human Fall Flat, Autonauts, Manual Samuel, or any of their other titles, so they are no stranger to publishing funny games like this. The trailer was released in September and there is currently no specific release date, but it is aiming for a Q1 2020 launch. Table Manners will be coming out on PC with no current plans for a console launch.
