Borderlands 3 Is on Google Stadia… with a Dated Client
Borderlands 3 is officially on the Google Stadia at a special launch price of $39 for the standard edition and $52 for the deluxe edition for a limited time. The client that’s available on the latest Borderlands for Google Stadia will include the updates and fixes that were released through October 24th which means it’s behind the live version on other platforms like the PS4 and PC by a couple of months. The first Borderlands 3 campaign add-on, Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, will release on Google Stadia early in 2020 but the current version includes endgame content like the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite and Mayhem 4 difficulty.
Google Stadia owners won’t have to download their version of Borderlands 3 as it will become immediately available to stream upon purchase. Furthermore, anyone who purchases the super deluxe edition of the game or the season pass won’t have to download any of the upcoming campaign add-ons for the game either which may be incentive enough for some people to choose this version of the looter shooter rather than others but we’re already enjoying is on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
The Gearbox team working on Google Stadia support aims to have the client of Borderlands 3 on the streaming service paired up with the live version on other platforms in 2020. The Stadia version of Borderlands 3 can be played in 4K with a Stadia Pro subscription and the required TV setup which will further enhance the spectacular cel shaded visuals of the game. For Stadia gamers who don’t already have the latest Borderlands, being able to play both on the TV and on a desktop or laptop PC is a nice benefit of playing on the Google platform.
