Battle for Azeroth Getting Its Final Content Patch in January
According to developers at Blizzard, Battle for Azeroth will be receiving its last content patch on January 14th as the last big patch before the release of Shadowlands in 2020. The new patch is called Visions of N’Zoth and it introduces Vulpera to Horde players as their new allied race while the Alliance has Mechagnomes to look forward to in January. There’s apparently a new twelve boss raid that should keep PVE players engaged for the months leading to the 2020 release of the next expansion, Shadowlands.
The raid introduced with Visions of N’Zoth culminates against the Old God N’Zoth, which should be an epic conclusion to Battle for Azeroth and it has been teased since the launch of Battle for Azeroth. As patches have released for the expansion, more hints have dropped that N-Zoth is playing a huge role, particularly pertaining to Queen Azshara and the lore implications of that. Although on a surface level, the expansion has been about the eternal struggle between Horde and Alliance, the Old God N’Zoth has been pulling strings the entire time.
With the warriors of Azeroth finally taking the fight to N’Zoth, several are speculating on who the twelve bosses will be. Although Battle for Azeroth hasn’t been the most positively received World of Warcraft expansion, it’s telling a great story in foreshadowing future content as they have laid the foundations for the upcoming successor, Shadowlands. Although Blizzard says it’s the last big content drop before Shadowlands, gamers can always expect a big patch days, sometimes weeks, ahead of the launch of new expansions if history gives any indication of what’s to come.
