Is Hitman 3 Coming Sooner Than Expected?
Hitman 2 launched last November so, to celebrate the game’s one-year anniversary, developer IO Interactive revealed on Wednesday a new Hitman 2 content roadmap for this month. However, there are several mentions in the roadmap’s news post of the next Hitman game (presumably titled, “Hitman 3”) being in development.
“After 13 months of full-time support and content for Hitman 2 – at no additional cost (besides what we added through the Expansion Pass), we’re now at a place where we are looking increasingly to the future,” part of the roadmap’s post read. “In real terms, we’re moving more and more of the Hitman 2 team to join the next Hitman game, which is well underway.”
The post also mentions that IO is “already looking at what’s to come next for the Hitman franchise”.
IO Interactive’s CEO Hakan Abrak said earlier this year in a Hitman documentary that IO was currently planning to make new IPs and a new Hitman game. Abrak also said that the new Hitman could release episodically (similar to how 2016’s Hitman was doled out).
This recent news hints that Hitman 3 could be coming out sooner than expected.
