Warcraft 3 Reforged’s Beta Build is Live
Programmer and dataminer Martin Benjamins quickly posted two screenshots of Warcraft 3 Reforged shortly after the beta build went live, showing anyone without access to it what the menu looks like. The two screenshots are from the first beta build that went live online hours ago and they feature far fewer options compared to the original Warcraft III menu, most notably the lack of social aspects that the original game had. The current release date for Warcraft 3 Reforged is the end of this year but it’s likely Blizzard will have a specific date in mind at BlizzCon in November.
Despite the lack of the social aspects that the original Warcraft III combined with the old Battle.net, the new Battle.net seamlessly connects gamers with their friends and it’s likely Warcraft 3 Reforged will find ways to utilize the new systems just as well, if not better. According to Martin Benjamins, these images are from the Warcraft 3 Reforged “Beta Week 0 RC5 (Final RC)” build.
Because the build is so close to the planned release of the game, it’s likely these menu screenshots show the final planned menu system for Warcraft 3 Reforged. Based on the reactions we’ve seen so far on social media, fans aren’t too happy with it so far and ultimately are unhappy with Blizzard since the blitzchung controversy. It’s likely Blizzard will show off more of Warcraft 3 Reforged at BlizzCon in a few weeks. We’re looking forward to taking that trip down memory lane, replaying the campaign that kicked off World of Warcraft with modernized graphical fidelity.
