Hearts of Iron 4: La Resistance Expansion Has Been Announced

Adds Spys, Commandos, and Ridiculous French Accents

The next major DLC has been announced for Hearts of Iron 4. Called La Resistance, this new expansion is going to be focusing less on big battles but rather on the subterfuge and spying. This should add a much more personal experience to a game that tends to focus on the bigger picture, rather than individuals.

Intelligence agencies are going to be added to the game as well. It is here was you will be able to recruit spies and moles to gain the upper hand over your enemies. You will be able to customize the name of your country’s agency as well as its logo. From there you can invest in different branches. Each branch will offer your nation something different and unique. For instance, you could build a spy agency that is focused solely and breaking up spy rings within your own country. The more resources that you spend on your agency the better the bonus. You can even launch commando raids to destroy key targets if your agency is a high enough level.

While the agencies you create will have a high level of customizability, the actual spies you employee will not. Each spy will be given a randomly generated portrait and name. Another interesting addition is how spies perform in their own nations. For instance, a French spy will perform better in France than a Britsh spy. So on and so forth. This is meant to represent the connections this person is going to have. Along with how familiar they are to the culture, language, and customs of the nation they have been assigned to.

Hearts of Iron 4 is currently available on PC on Steam. La Resistance is coming soon.
