Be Excellent to One Another
In a world of video games with the sole objectives of killing each other, slaying the dragon, and being the last one standing, sometimes you just need kindness in your life. If this is an idea that you think you want then you might just want to try Kind Words now on Steam. There’s no pressure, no objectives, no enemies, only friendliness. You can uplift people, be uplifted by others, or just send your strongest, most gentle letters of encouragement out into the universe for some distant soul to be warmed by.
Kind Words (lo fi chill beats to write to) is the full name of the game. In this game, you sit in your little cubicle of a room with you bed and desk, and a Mail Deer pops its head through your window with letters. These letters might be words that you need to hear during hard times or they might be from people going through those hard times themselves and are looking for someone to lend an ear. You can send out letters of your own troubles anonymously or respond to someone doing the same. Every player is given a set of stickers they can stick on their letters, almost like signing it. If you see a new sticker you like, you can add it to your own collection and send it back out.
Developer Popcannibal describes Kind Words as “A game about writing nice letters to real people. Write and receive encouraging letters in a cozy room. Trade stickers and listen to chill music. We’re all in this together. Sometimes all you need are a few kind words.” Kind Words (lo fi chill beats to write to) came out yesterday and is on Steam right now.
