Deadly Premonition 2 Exclusive to Switch

The Quirky, Paranormal Deadly Premonition 2 Comes to Switch

The recent Nintendo Direct saw a number of announcements, including Rising Star Games’ upcoming sequel to the cult classic Deadly Premonition which released in 2010. The director’s cut of the game was developed by Toybox Inc. in 2013 and prior to this official reveal trailer, we had only a slight idea that Deadly Premonition 2 was in development. Series creator Hidetaka Suehiro is directly involved with the development of this sequel to create a true to form game that evolves with the industry. A Blessing In Disguise currently has a tentative release planned for 2020 and is exclusive to The Nintendo Switch on launch. The game likely remains part of the open world survival horror genre while utilizing puzzle solving to uncover the mysteries Deadly Premonition 2 has lurking in the dark.

Apparently A Blessing In Disguise could be a timed exclusive as Rising Star Games only announced that the game is exclusive to Nintendo Switch on launch. Presently the game is only releasing on Switch but if you’re a fan of the original Deadly Premonition but don’t have a Switch, don’t get discouraged. The original game was certainly cringe worthy at times and terrifying at other times but featured great narrative storytelling as we suspect Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise will as well, given the involvement with the series creator.

While humbly acknowledging the creation of the sequel to Deadly Premonition as a miracle, series creator Hidetaka Suehiro said “I’m working hard day and night while also looking back on the past to make sure that this becomes something that doesn’t change no matter how much time passes, while also adapting to and interlocking with the current era. A game that encompasses all.” This likely means the charm and humor as well as the grit and horror of the original won’t be lost in the sequel. Despite being almost a decade since the Deadly Premonition released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, we’re still excited to see what spooky missions Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise has in store for us.
