My Spidey Senses are Tingling!
Marvel’s Spider-Man was one of the most successful superhero games to ever be released. By almost every conceivable metric, Spider-Man outperformed the competition. Sales, graphics, gameplay, and much more. The latest Spider-Man game really does have it all. It was so beloved by fans that some people even bought a PS4 just to play it. The Spider-Man game even threatened to overthrow the Batman Arkham series as the undisputed heavyweight of superhero video games.
Due to this overwhelming success, it should be no surprise that there are rumors floating around about a Game of the Year Edition being made. New Amazon listing holds might have given this little present away early. The UK Amazon site listed Spider-Man as a “game of the year.” This could be an innocent typo, but it could also just be Amazon jumping the gun a bit and making a mistake.
If this does turn out to be true, it should not be a very big shock to anyone. The game has been celebrated by superhero fans around the world. Superheros are one of the largest draws in popular culture nowadays. The obscene amounts of money that the Marvel movies have made over the past decade alone is staggering. It would only make sense to give the people what they want.
The Game of the Year Edition would most likely include the DLC, The City That Never Sleeps. There would, of course, be other tidbits of bonus content that is usually added to repackaged versions of games. However, there wasn’t much in the way of DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man.
If you own a PlayStation 4 and have never played Spider-Man, you might want to hold off a while. Additionally, wait and see if these rumors turn out to be true.
