Coffee Talk Trailer – Become a Barista of a Fantasy World

Drown Your Troubles in Coffee

If you have ever wanted a game that mixes DnD, Cooking Mama, and a visual novel, well you’ve got a very specific kink, but no shame. There is a game on its way just for you. “Coffee Talk is a game about listening to people’s problems and help them by serving a warm drink out of the ingredients you have. It is a game that tries to depict our lives as humanly as possible while having a cast that is more than just humans.” It is all laid out in the Coffee Talk trailer released just a few days ago.

Coffee Talk is very reminiscent of Papers, Please. You know, if you swap out the depressing setting of Arstotkza with Seattle, and the refugees with orcs, mermaids, and elves. From the looks of things, Coffee Talk makes use of very similar gameplay and narrative elements as Papers, Please. Everyone who walks through the doors of your café has their own story, and it is your job to hear them out and make them forget all their troubles with a cup of whatever. The game features “Branching story lines where the decisions do not come from the dialogue options you choose, but through how you treat and serve the customers of your café.”

Coffee Talk comes from Toge Productions, an indie developer who has made games such as Infectanator 3: Apocalypse, Rage in Peace, and Raising Hell. There is already a demo available for Coffee Talk on itch and GameJolt. It will also be available on Steam and GOG as well as “consoles” in January 2020.
