Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Could Be Bringing Changes to Gunfight Due to Feedback

Tweaks to the Gameplay Might Happen Before Launch

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Alpha is currently out on PS4. However, if you are still wanting to play you’ll only have the rest of today to try it out. The alpha was is only going to be available this weekend. Then we will have to wait a couple more weeks for the beta to release in September.

Modern Warfare Gunfight Alpha

The Call of Duty Alpha allows the player to get a taste of the game through a new 2vs2 game mode called Gunfight. There are no respawns and guns, as well as other equipment,  are randomly generated. The first team to win six rounds wins the match.  It is a great way to get a feel for the new mechanics of the game. The addition of recoil on the weapons being the most noticeable.

The alpha has been generally well-received by fans, however, nothing is perfect and there has been a small amount of criticism. Luckily for fans, Infinity Ward seems open to making changes to the game.

One of the major issues that people have with this new game mode is the fact that the players only receive one life per round. Some have voiced concerns that this encourages camping and playing much more defensively than some would like.

To remedy this problem, Infinity Ward might be making a couple of variations to the mode. There already exists a mode called Gunfight OSP. This mode takes away the randomly generated class loadouts in the vanilla version and instead forces the player to pick up weapons around the map. Just like in old school shooters like GoldenEye and the early Halo Games.

It is not inconceivable that there will be many different versions of this game mode in order to keep the fans happy.
