No Man’s Sky Fans Buy Billboard Space Outside Developer’s Studio to Thank Them

Wholesome Fans Are The Best Kind

Considering how often we hear about entitled fans lashing out at developers for one reason or another, it’s always nice to read a story about those who go out of their way to show appreciation for those who make their favorite games.

No Man’s Sky had a notoriously troublesome launch when it first dropped back in 2016, but after a few years of updates and added content, it’s essentially a whole new game. This billboard is the latest grand showing of fan appreciation – a fan film also released earlier this year from Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller, and WWE Superstar Xavier Woods.

The thankful billboard has been sponsored through a fan-made GoFundMe, which reached $2,663 of its $1,750 goal. The description says that “a portion of the funds will also be used to buy a case of beer and lunch for the team.”

The billboard will officially be set up on August 12th, and stay there for two weeks. The GoFundMe description also claims that the current billboard art example isn’t set in stone, and the organizer is “open to changing it to get something we are all happy with.” That’s gonna look really good on someone’s resume!

No Man's Sky Abyss Update

The best part is, No Man’s Sky has a shipload more content coming later this year in a new online update, including VR support. No Man’s Sky is currently available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Let us know what you think in the comments!
