Familiar and New Faces, Meet Them All
We recently learned a few details regarding Borderlands 3’s release. The first is that the release date is September 13th, which slipped out from an April 1st tweet. Secondly, Borderlands 3’s PC release will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store until 2020. This has led to review bombing on Steam similar to what we saw for Metro Exodus’s release. We have also learned about the different characters we will be introduced to. This new Borderlands 3 trailer bundles all that info together. It also gives us a better look at our villains the Vault Hunters will be facing off against.
The trailer opens with the game’s recurring tagline “Mayhem is Coming”. We get to see our four Vault Hunters in action. Moze, FL4K, Amara, and Zane each get a quick introduction. We are also introduced to Borderlands 3’s primary antagonists the Calypso Twins. In the first frames of them, they are both highlighted in a blue light. If you look closely, their feet and legs have no definite shape here. Either they have some sort of trippy powers or they are holograms in this scene. In the following shot of them, they seem to be walking around in full colour and form.
The rest of the trailer shows off what kind of enemies players will be facing off against. Creatures with guns, psychos, little-people psychos, and more guns than you will know what to do with. We also see glimpses of supporting characters from the previous games like Sir Hammerlock, Tiny Tina, Ellie, of course Claptrap. Borderlands 3 comes out on September 13th on PS4, Xbox One, and the Epic Games Store. Lock, load, and LOOOOOOOOOOOT!
