No Longer Exclusive?
Games from Quantic dream, under the umbrella of Sony’s first-party titles for so long, are finally coming to PC. And, they will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. As was foretold, the PC market is becoming a battleground of exclusivity deals.
During GDC 2019, at an Epic Games keynote, Quantic Dream revealed that Detroit: Become Human, Beyond: Two Souls, and Heavy Rain, formerly PlayStation exclusives, will make their way to PC. Unfortunately, the announcement didn’t come with an exact release date.
As far as I’m aware, Sony owns the trademark for each of these games, which have been around for a while. Heavy Rain launched nearly a decade ago, back in 2010, as a PS3 exclusive. The second PS3 exclusive, Beyond: Two Souls, arrived back in 2016. Both games saw updates in the Quantic Dream collection that hit the PS4, just before the arrival of Detroit: Become Human in 2018. So what changed? Why did Quantic Dream suddenly decide to invite PC players along for the ride? There’s actually no explanation, as of yet, but this is good news for the market.
Apparently, the Quantic Dream games are already functioning on PC. Below, you’ll find the minimum and recommended spec requirements.
