Anthem Short Film By Neill Blomkamp Dropping Later This Week

Blomkamp Brings Some of Anthem’s Background Story to Life

In anticipation of the game’s impending release, a short film titled Anthem: Conviction from Elysium and District 9 director Neill Blomkamp will be released this Thursday.

Understandably, not a whole lot of information has been shared about the short film aside from its existence, except for the fact that it’s apparently set “decades before the beginning of the game.” Blomkamp worked with Oats Studios to develop the short film, and you can check out their past projects right here.

Blomkamp is no stranger to video game projects, having previously directed the Halo: Landfall short film from 2007, and was even set to direct the a full-length feature film produced by Peter Jackson based on the legendary franchise. The last time he mentioned the project was in 2013, claiming he’d still be open to doing it.
