Spider-Man PS4 Has a Very High Platinum Trophy Completion Rate

10% of Spider-Man Players Have Already Received the Platinum

Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 is everything one could want from a Spider-Man game. It’s already sold like hot cakes and reviews have been nothing short of amazing (or spectacular). More importantly, PS4 gamers are enjoying it but what’s surprising is how many of them are returning to the game to get the coveted platinum trophy.

According to user Certinfy on the Resetera forums, 10% of Spider-Man players have already earned the trophy which means 1 out of 10 players got the platinum since its release on September 7th. That’s a pretty impressive feat considering how rare platinum trophies are collected by the average gamer. Having said that, the platinum trophy isn’t all that difficult to obtain. According to PlayStation Trophies, the game is rated between 2 and 3 out of 10 in terms of platinum difficulty. But as Certinfy points out, many of the additional trophies are tied to side content which means players put in an extra 15-25 hours on top of the main story.

Thanks to Gameinformer, we also can compare this number to other major PS4 games. Below is a list of popular PS4 games and their platinum completion rate:

  • Horizon Zero Dawn – 6.1 per cent
  • Infamous: Second Son – 5.8 per cent
  • Bloodborne – 5.6 per cent
  • God of War – 5.5 per cent
  • Gravity Rush 2 – 5.0 per cent
  • Yakuza 6: The Song of Life – 3.3 per cent
  • Until Dawn – 2.9 per cent
  • Persona 5 – 2.4 per cent
  • Detroit: Become Human – 2.1 per cent
  • Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) – 1.6 per cent
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – .8 per cent
  • The Last Guardian – .4 per cent

This is great news for a couple of reasons. First, it shows that people are enjoying the gameplay in Spider-Man so much that they’re willing to continue playing it well beyond its story campaign. And secondly, it shows, yet again, the strength of quality single-player games and that there is still a demand for experiences like this.
