The Murder-Loving Robot Overlord We Deserve
Everyone’s favorite murder-enthusiast droid commander General Grievous joins the cast of Star Wars Battlefront II today, and DICE has detailed just how the character will operate in-game.
Grievous will stick with two lightsabers for the better part of regular combat, incorporating his extra two arms and lightsabers for his abilities. Thrust Surge is directly based on a move he pulls during his fight with Obi-Wan in Episode III, as he “thrusts Grievous forward with all four lightsabers in a stabbing motion, dealing damage and throwing the target to the ground.”
Similarly, Unrelenting Advance is also inspired by the one scene he was in in Episode III, as he forms a wall of spinning lightsabers in front of him using all four arms, allowing him to block all frontal attacks while dealing damage to enemies who get too close.
Lastly, Grievous’ Claw Rush turns him into some sort of horrifying spider-robot, as he gets down on all six limbs to scurry out of battle, pushing and damaging opponents unfortunate enough to get in his way.
Additionally, the character will sport his “Jedi Hunter” appearance with a Battle Damaged variant available to purchase with credits. Grievous himself will cost 35,000 credits – and not any real world money. DICE also stated that a new appearance will come with the Battle of Geonosis update on November 28th, which will also include Obi-Wan Kenobi.
It’s worth noting that Grievous’s Battlefront II incarnation is voiced by his VA from The Clone Wars TV series, Matthew Wood, and the rest of the incoming Clone Wars characters will follow suit. Star Wars Battlefront II is currently available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
