Marvel and Sony Enlist Help of Fans to Break a Funny Spider-Man World Record

It’s no surprise that the recent release of Spider-Man is taking the world by storm and the game is selling like crazy. In fact, there’s already been shortages in places like Japan! While Marvel and Sony worked together with Insomniac Games to make an incredible Spidey game, they’ve decided to pair up once again to break a crazy, and slightly ridiculous, Guinness World Record.

So which world record would they be so interested in breaking? As it turns out there is a Guinness World Record for the most people dressed as Spider-Man in one location and Sony and Marvel paired up and enlisted the help of Spidey fans everywhere to come together to break this record. Today, at Stockholm Comic Con, Sony and Marvel got 547 different people to dress as Spider-Man to help break the Guinness World Record and they damn well succeeded!

Marvel’s Chief Editor C.B. Cebulski took to Twitter earlier today to announce that Sony, Marvel, and hundreds of people dressed as Spider-Man were hoping to break the record, followed by an image of their success. If you’ve always wanted to know what it would look like to have 547 different people dressed up as Spider-Man in one place, you’d better check out the tweets below.

And whether you knew this was even a Guinness World Record or not it seems that the frenzy caused by the release of Spider-Man helped to make this all possible. As you can see in the picture above all of the fans who helped make this record breaking moment happen were wearing Insomniac’s take on Spidey’s original suit. If you wanted to see all of the suits available in the new game, you can check them out right here.
