Choices Are Everything in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Today at Ubisoft’s E3 presser, the developer revealed a new gameplay trailer and release date for the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Odyssey. The existence of the game was leaked earlier this month by a keychain.
The reveal confirmed details that leaked prior to E3 including the implementation of dialogue options, character choice at the start of the game, and the setting of Ancient Greece. Players will side with Athens or Sparta in the Peloponnesian war, stepping into the boots of Alexios or Kassandra, who will both have separate sets of male and female characters that they can each have romantic relationships with. Branching decision-based storylines will personalize players’ journey through Ancient Greece as they hunt down the Spear of Leonidas, the latest addition to the collection of Pieces of Eden. Naval combat is also returning to the series with all of its customization options from Black Flag as well as earning upgrades for your crew, allowing players to fight the opposition for island territories in a map just a little bit bigger than that of Origins’ Egypt. Also, you can actually pull off the famous Spartan Kick from 300.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is set to release this coming October 5th on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
