New Project Teased by The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy Developer

The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy Developer Dangles Word of New Project on a String for Hungry Fans

While in the process of hacking away at updates for his most recent indie title, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, it seems like The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy developer Edmund McMillen has also been busy developing an entirely new project. In the midst of the endless hours of work poured into the pushes, such as porting the game to the Nintendo Switch and adding patches which allow for a player to create a multitude of additional user-created content, McMillen and programmer Tyler Glaiel have also been in “crunch mode” with their upcoming game.

McMillen is also the founder of Super Meat Boy developer, Team Meat, and has a history of keeping fans up to date on projects via an array of multimedia including videos and blogs. In keeping with his constant updates for fans, a recent entry in The Binding of Isaac‘s blog teases the new project.

If you’ve been keeping up to date with McMillen’s works, you probably already know that McMillen is working away at The Legend of Bum-bo, and he and Glaiel have already announced that they’re working together on Ouroboros, but this “secret project” mentioned by McMillen is probably something totally different.

McMillen writes, “Not many of you know this, but Tyler and I have been in crunch mode for the past 3 months trying to finish this secret project,” he wrote. “We are coming close to announcing it and its release date, so keep and eye out for it.” adding “It’s hard, it’s weird, it’s personal, it has amazing controls, it’s a totally new unannounced IP and it’s easily one of the largest games I’ve ever made, level-wise.”
