An all-new month means all-new content and the Gears of War 4 April update is bringing in Easter goodies with their Easter Event and huge updates! Everything from chocolate weapons to major tuning updates, ranked play improvements, additional legacy characters, and new maps are now available at your fingertips. Here’s what to expect in this month’s April Update!
First off, make way for the Gears of War 4 Easter Event! With Easter just around the corner, what better way to celebrate than with… chocolate weapons and a Bunny Hunt? Well, I guess Easter in Gears of War 4 is celebrated with a different touch of tradition than what us here in the non-video game world are accustomed to. Hop into the ‘Bunny Hunt’ that brings back the giant bunny heads and allows players to unlock give different Chocolate Easter Egg themed weapon skins.
Two new maps from Gears of War 3 have also been updated and brought back to life as Hotel and The Slab. You can check out the videos for both maps that will be available for Season Pass holders in the Developer Playlist, that come along with Double XP and 20% Bonus Credits, below!
These two maps will be available publically in Public Matchmaking starting April 11.
Legacy Characters are up for grabs early this month, with Kantus coming back for the month of April. Horde and Versus events are switching things up as well, and those new gameplay events will be starting on April 21 and 28th respectively.
On top of all this, weapon tuning changes give a huge update to both Core and Competitive gameplay. In core, starting weapons match roles with more efficiency, with a reduced range for the Gnasher, and improvements and tweaks to the Hammerburst and Lancer. Competitive updates focus on team cooperation and highlighting the competitive nature of this gameplay mode.
