Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War III is HERE in Beta Form
Hold onto your butts: Relic Entertainment and SEGA Europe Ltd. today announced the official Open Beta weekend for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III. The Open Beta will take place from 10AM PST Friday, April 21st until 10AM PST Monday, April 24th.
That’s the business end of things. Â Now for some cool stuff.
Multiplayer and Heroes
That’s right, it’s not just a single mission with some dumb NPC’s; this is real warfare, my friends.  You get to choose from three factions: Space Marines (the best), Eldar (okay, I guess), and Orks (TRASH).  The game plays like the rest of the series as a Company of Heroes-style RTS, with your grunt forces, hulking war machines, and your crucial heroes for each faction.
Speaking of heroes, the Open Beta weekend gives you the chance to see the Masters of War skins in action. The Dark Queen skin for Lady Solaria (Imperial Knight – the best knight), the Ghost Seer skin for Farseer Taldeer (Wraithknight -eh) and the Big Kustom skin for Beauty (Morkanaut – but why would you play as Orks) will all be available for use. And if you pre-order, you get all these customizations with the full Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War III.
Just think about all the fun you’re going to have putting hot plasma bolts through all those damn dirty Orks.
