A huge Battlefield 1 data-dump gives us lots of details on EA’s upcoming WWI title
Jackpot! Battlefield 1‘s closed alpha has apparently been data-mined, revealing a crap-load of information, including the chapters titles of the single-player campaign, character names, weapons, gadgets and a whole lot more. Reddit user “Lobix” seems to be the source of the Battlefield 1 data-dump, posting the information with an apology to the game’s developer and publisher: “EA & DICE, I’m sorry <3.”
Here’s what the Battlefield 1 data-dump shows us (with thanks to Gamespot):
- the single-player campaign in Battlefield 1 will have seven episodes, including a prologue and epilogue. All told, the episodes total 20 chapters.
- There will apparently be special dog tags awarded to players who complete “The Road to Battlefield 1” missions in Battlefield 4 or Battlefield Hardline, anyone who owns a previous Battlefield game, or even attended a Battlefield 1 event in person or online. Also, anyone who took part in the closed alpha or open beta for Battlefield 1 will get the dog tags.
- The list also suggests there will be over 30 weapons, ranging from handguns to tankers, boats, “behemoth weapons,” and “cavalry weapons.”
- Gadgets for the game include the standard mines, grenades, medic bags, and ammo crates, gas masks, and flare guns.
- The data-dump gives a list of maps, melee weapons, game modes, and exclusive sounds from the game.
Battlefield 1 is EA’s latest title in the celebrated Battlefield series, taking the game to a WWI setting for the first time. Its announcement and subsequent trailer have been extremely well-received for graphic quality and intriguing concept. It is due to release October 21st, 2016, or October 18th if you preorder a special version. An open Beta comes later this summer. Check out COGconnected’s own full coverage of the game, including our exclusive hands-on with the game at E3, and a cool video showing off the gameplay.
