Street Fighter V Sells Over 1.4 Million Copies
Yesterday Capcom revealed some financial information regarding several franchises. They announced Street Fighter V has shipped 1.4 million copies between PS4 and PC, including digital downloads.
According to Capcom, this brings the series’ total tally to 38 million units shipped since its inception.
Street Fighter V was released for PS4 and PC on February 16th. Numbers are calculated as of March 31st, 2016.
Capcom reported the following:
“In the home video game market, sales of more than one million units is the generally accepted standard for a major hit. Since Capcom’s inception, we have created many of these titles, including Street Fighter and Resident Evil. With more than 70 titles that have sold more than one million units, Capcom stands alone in the video game industry. This page lists these hit titles by sales volume and presents packages, moving and still images, and other information about these games.”
We reviewed Street Fighter V several weeks ago and loved it. This is what we had to say:
So much is being added after launch, that I feel like in a lot of ways, I’m reviewing an incomplete game. I cannot review what is yet to arrive. In the same breath I can clearly tell that what we’re seeing now is the base for an absolutely stellar overall experience. Trust that Capcom will be following through on their promises and only making better what is already technically fantastic. COGconnected will keep you updated as more features are added. If you are a Street Fighter fan, and are looking forward to seriously competing in this console generation’s great fighting game franchise, then your time has arrived.
