Street Fighter 6 Surpasses Two Million Units Sold Worldwide

Capcom is a major video game company with several titles under its belt. On June 2nd, Street Fighter 6 launched on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. By June 7th, the game had crossed one million in sales. Today, Capcom has announced that the game has now crossed over two million units sold worldwide and that the series has sold more than fifty million units cumulatively.

Via an official press release, Capcom stated, “Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Street Fighter 6, the latest title in the storied Street Fighter series, has sold over 2 million units worldwide…Capcom remains firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all players by leveraging its industry-leading game development capabilities in order to create highly entertaining gameplay experiences.” 

Furthermore, the company intends to continue to leverage its eSports portfolio by kicking off the Street Fighter League: Pro-JP 23 in July. Moreover, in August, players will get the chance to compete in the Capcom Pro Tour 2023 where the champion will be rewarded with one million dollars in prize money. It is clear that the game is of great importance to Capcom and the company is allocation resources to its competitive scene to increase viewership and sales.

In Street Fighter 6, players will jump into a unique fighting-game experience where they can enjoy an immersive story mode and Modern Control Type, where they can execute special attacks with simple button combinations.
