The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier: Ep. 1 & 2 Video Review – Still Superb

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier: Ep. 1 & 2 Video Review

Telltale’s awesome Walking Dead video game franchise is back. The latest game, A New Frontier, acts as both a new beginning for players fresh to the series and unfamiliar with Clementine, as well as a continuation for players who have experienced Seasons One and Two. So if you have never checked out any of the previous Telltale Waling Dead games, you have no need to worry as players new to the series will be able to start a story that is tailored to this new beginning. The first two of five episodes in The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier are available now on PC from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, on the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One, and on the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 4. We posted our written review last week, but for those not interested in reading, we have the video review for you right here:

When our man, Lucas, reviewed the game and he said this: “Detractors of Telltale’s post Walking Dead style aren’t likely to be convinced by A New Frontier. The experience is ultimately just as linear as before, and there isn’t any core-gameplay to speak of, outside of walking and talking to people. A New Frontier, despite its name, really is sticking with what’s worked before, and it’s not made to convert. It’s made to continue, and that’s what it does superbly. As someone that hasn’t been exposed to Telltale’s strengths in years… it’s good to be back. Now where the hell is Wolf Among Us Season Two!?”

As an FYI, beginning in February, the series will also be available for purchase on a special ‘Season Pass Disc’ for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, which will include the premiere episodes for the third season, as well as access to all subsequent episodes in the five episode season for download as they become available.
