Days Gone: The Stealth, Combat and Exploring is Underrated

Stealth, Combat, and Exploring in Days Gone Video Gameplay

Days Gone has been released and so far reviews have been mixed. Granted, Days Gone isn’t exactly a smooth ride and many of the criticisms are indeed fair. That being said, the stealth, combat and exploring mechanics in the game are quite enjoyable. You just have to stick with it. No really, its that simple. The first part of the game can be a slog. It’s clear many reviewers didn’t see the game through until the very end because if they did, we are confident their sour opinion would have changed.

There is a ton of variety in the game and the more you play, the more you’ll appreciate it’s many elements. With crafting, weather cycles, and lots of different weapons (of course), there is a myriad of ways to kill the “Freakers,” the remnants of the aforementioned global pandemic.

Our video gameplay below explores some of that stealth and combat gameplay people are waiting for.

There’s a lot to unpack in that gameplay, between the sneaking around at nighttime and stabbing zombies in the head.

Days Gone is a survival horror video game developed by SIE Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4. Sony describes it as, “an open-world action-adventure game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic. [You can] play as Deacon St. John, a Drifter and bounty hunter who rides the broken road, fighting to survive while searching for a reason to live. At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love – and hope.” This idea– that hope never dies– is at the core of Days Gone.
