3.) We Have An Interesting Main Character
I recognize it is only a taste of what we’ll get as I have yet to spend a significant amount of time with our new protagonist but c’mon folks, Aiden Pearce was a pill. His character was a complete borefest nobody cared about. Marcus on the other hand likes to listen to magnificent tunes while taking down a mansion full of baddies. He’s a funny dude who isn’t afraid to belt out the odd cuss word here and there. He’s someone I can get used to playing with.
4.) The Driving Mechanics Kick Ass
I could have spent hours driving around the streets of San Francisco. Not solely due to the city’s glorious vistas but it is just so fun to drive around in the game’s many rides. From motorcycles to larger cars, each vehicle controls differently and the result is a game that drives remarkably well. I was shocked as I fully expected the driving portions of the game to be an afterthought. That is not the case at all. The once lackluster handling of the vehicles is gone, replaced with a finely tuned game certainly on par with other open world games on the market.
5.) Coop Gameplay Nicely Implemented
Many games have cooperative elements but not all of them can pull it off. I am happy to announce Watch Dogs 2 nearly nails it. In the demo I played, myself and my expert coop dev partner managed to infiltrate a gang’s hideout. I mean it all went to shit but we pulled it off. Using my trusty hacking abilities I did a scan of the property with a drone then I subsequently sent in my RC Jumper in the compound to take down an enemy thug. My coop partner then assisted by placing proximity mine on the drone to take down another target. We had to work together to accomplish the mission. It was enjoyable and an aspect of the game I’d like to take advantage of when the game is released.
I could never get into the original Watch Dogs for a variety of reasons. This time around I am jacked. Watch Dogs 2 is a game I want to play. It takes everything that went wrong with the original and makes it better. Hacking options are deeper than ever, we have an interesting character and San Fran has never looked better on a console. I can’t wait to see more as we inch closer to the games release on November 15. Watch Dogs 2 is arriving for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Are you jazzed for Watch Dogs 2?
