Top 7 Video Game Releases to Watch for May 2017

Injustice 2 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment – PS4, X1 (May 11)

The follow-up to the superhero fighter, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Injustice 2 brings back more of the same. While this superhero fighter’s main allure is of course, fighting it out between iconic characters, the first Injustice featured a highly-regarded storyline which the second is sure to build on. Cyborg vs Robin? Joker vs Harley Quinn? Dream matchups are to be had, and fans are certainly excited about this game.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew – Ubisoft – PC, PS4 (May 30)

Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages – ah crap, wrong timeline. Well, these are the voyages of the starship Aegis, taking place in the contemporary Star Trek film’s timeline. Star Trek: Bridge Crew is playable with up to four players in VR, taking a variety of roles and completing both story and randomly generated missions. Players can be the captain, tactical officer, engineer, or helm officer. Give us any position, but keep the red shirt away, please.

Farpoint – Sony Interactive Entertainment – PSVR (May 16)

Since its debut, Farpoint has been one of the most anticipated PSVR titles, and it is finally set to release. Farpoint features a complete single-player campaign taking place on an alien planet. This shooter also has an online co-op mode where you can shoot aliens to your heart’s content alongside a friend. Survivors keep moving, and the PSVR adds another quality title looking to keep the momentum going for the platform.

Prey – Bethesda Softworks – PC, PS4, X1 (May 5)

Last and definitely not least comes Prey at the helm of May’s video game releases. Keeping up with the seemingly sci-fi theme of May, Prey, a re-imagining of sorts of 2006’s Prey, is an action-adventure game in the vein of System Shock. With some comparisons to some great titles, Bethesda looks to have another hit on their hands. With each piece of content that showcases Prey, the game is increasingly hyped and rightfully so. For those on the fence, a demo is available on consoles to try the game out, but stay tuned for our review to see what we think!
