New Pokemon Snap – Switch – April 30
Over 20 years since the original Pokemon Snap released, New Pokemon Snap is finally following up the classic title. Naming conventions aside, New Pokemon Snap has a lot of technical improvements and gaming features from the last 20 years to draw from. Perhaps most exciting is the rise of Photo Modes which undoubtedly plays a role in how players can now touch up photos and stylize them after expeditions. The Pokemon Snap titles have a unique feel to them, one that exudes calmness while simultaneously asking for perfect timing. After over 20 years, we’re excited to capture Pokemon in their natural habitats, the not-so-old-fashioned-way.
Outriders – PC, PS4/5, X1/S – April 1
Outriders is the latest from People Can Fly, likely best known for their work on the Bulletstorm games. Outriders is a third-person shooter with role-playing elements and cooperative play. Players can select from four different classes as they make their way through the game. Unlike other cooperative shooters, Outriders does not play as a “games as a service” type of game but is a complete experience. Though releasing on April Fool’s Day, Outriders is no joke… probably.
Returnal – PS5 – April 30
Returnal is the next major PlayStation 5 exclusive title being developed by Housemarque of Resogun and Nex Machina fame. Put simply, Returnal is a third-person shooter with psychological horror and roguelike elements. Players take on the role of Selene, a space pilot stuck in a time loop that resets after each death, bringing players back to the ever-changing world of Atropos. Housemarque does very well with its gameplay elements, and we look forward to taking on their latest creation.
