3. Capcom Fighting Collection 2 – May 16
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is a package of 8 classic Capcom arcade fighting games from the late 90s/ early 2000s, when Capcom was making the shift from 2D to 3D. The games are Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Project Justice, and Plasma Sword. This collection is a big deal for fans of retro fighting games, especially having modern versions of the Capcom vs. SNK and Power Stone games. Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will be available for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
2. Elden Ring: Nightreign DLC – May 30
We don’t like to have DLC on lists like the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in May 2025. But if the DLC is incredibly massive, and important, we can’t resist. Elden Ring: Nightreign is a massive new expansion to Elden Ring, adding a new procedurally generated area, and co-op gameplay. If Elden Ring: Nightreign is as good as Shadow of the Erdtree, it’s as big as a full-priced game anyways. Elden Ring: Nightreign will be available for everything except the Switch.
1. Doom: The Dark Ages – May 15
Doom: The Dark Ages is the only game massive enough to top Elden Ring’s DLC on the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in May 2025. It’s the follow-up to Doom: Eternal, but is a story prequel to Doom 2016. The setting has a medieval theme, which is the major shakeup to the gameplay formula. Despite being published by Bethesda, and Bethesda being owned by Microsoft, Doom: The Dark Ages will be available for PS5, in addition to Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
