3. Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong – May 19
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is not Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines II, but it is still the first RPG in the series since 2004. It’s still difficult to tell what game play will be like from the available footage, but the POV is third person, and there will likely be tabletop RPG mechanics from the World of Darkness series. The release was delayed by a year due to Covid, but is finally happening May 2022, on all consoles and PC. This is the second prequel to a more anticipated game in the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in May 2022.
2. Sniper Elite 5 – May 26
Sniper Elite 5 is the only full-tilt sequel from a major video game franchise in May 2022. The first four Sniper Elite games have sold around 20 million copies, so hopefully Rebellion Developments have put everything they’ve learned in this 5th entry, in order to get massive sales. Sniper Elite 5 is a third person shooter, with an emphasis on sniping in large levels. The once popular x-ray kill cam is returning, as well as new co-op modes. Sniper Elite 5 will be available for everything except the Switch.
1. Evil Dead: The Game – May 13
The top game of May 2022 is Evil Dead: The Game. The release has been pushed back, and Evil Dead fans have been chomping at the bit to get their hands on it. The most successful games based on the Evil Dead films were mostly PS2-era survival horror games, or mobile games. Evil Dead: The Game is taking no cues from the past, and will be an online multiplayer co-op/ PVP action game. The absolutely essential Bruce Campbell is lending his voice to the game, as well as Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo from the Ash Vs. Evil Dead TV series. Evil Dead: The Game will be available for everything except the Switch upon launch, although a Switch release will be happening at a later date.
